THE CARROUSEL (Work in progress)
Year : Work in progressLocation : Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (Qc), Canada
Area : 3.57 Ha
The project envisions the creation of a vibrant village center, offering affordable housing while embracing circular economy principles, preserving biodiversity, and fostering communal living spaces. Imagine a place propelled by motion—a historic space echoed by the comings and goings of factory workers, the rhythmic clatter of trains and sewing machines. This is a realm where human determination acts as a transformative force. From the sewing machines of the Singer Factory to the battery charges of the Hart Factory, from the resolve of workers to Joséphine Dandurand's feminist drive, every element contributes to the momentum. This place is a living narrative of Joséphine’s pages, translating into an inclusive, dynamic site. It becomes a search engine, a creative engine, and a recharge impulse, all interconnected by the generative force of movement. The site's history, shaped by the perpetual motion of creative energy, becomes a catalyst for change—a collective and engaged living environment, reimagining the concept of habitation.
