Nestled in the heart of a mature residential neighborhood in Longueuil, this 1960s residence has been reimagined through an intervention centered on the kitchen—conceived as the true heart of family life.

Bound by four structural columns, these constraints became the project’s conceptual catalyst: a glazed volume that extends the perspective beyond its immediate limits. The design engages in a quiet dialogue with the existing structure, revealing the strength of what was preserved while grounding the whole in a calm, contemporary sensibility.

“We wanted a space that felt intimate for evenings with family and friends, but also practical for our busy life with four kids. This glass volume is truly spectacular; it highlights the celling heights and blends seamlessly with the home’s architecture.”

Louis-Philippe, Owner of the residence

“The residence already had a strong and distinctive sense of volume. We designed the kitchen as a pivotal space, conceived to capture and redistribute the light.”

Esther Leduc, Senior Interior Designer
