The Last Little Pig

Year
2019
Location
Grand-Metis, QC

Rooted in the heart of the magnificent Jardins de Métis, the installation invites visitors to step into the story of The Three Little Pigs—this time, in the shoes of the Big Bad Wolf. While the grass field and wooden path are easily crossed, it’s quite another matter when faced with the solid brick structure firmly anchored at the edge of the forest. The outcome is inevitable: the only way for the visitor to enter is through the chimney.

Requiring boldness and curiosity, the explorer must climb the wrought iron ladder to discover unexpected viewpoints over the forest, where shafts of zenithal light and playful reflections intertwine.

“We found it interesting to introduce the more familiar, yet also more durable, aspect of masonry into garden art. That’s what gives this installation a more permanent rather than ephemeral character.”
