Set along the river’s edge, this family ski chalet is seamlessly rooted in its natural surroundings. The intervention expands the living area through the addition of a complete primary suite—including bedroom, bathroom, and sauna—while preserving a clear and fluid spatial reading.

Bathed in natural light, the new extension houses a living space designed for relaxation and family gatherings around the warmth of a fireplace. The sauna naturally extends the après-ski experience, offering a moment of well-being. Generous openings frame views of the river and forest, allowing the site itself to become a central element of the lived experience.

“Generously glazed and bathed in natural light, it frames breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The result is a more spacious, comfortable home — the product of thoughtful, meticulous collaboration with the firm.”

The challenge was to integrate a new volume into a small stilt house, expanding the living area while adding an extra bedroom and bathroom. Kim and her team met it brilliantly, creating a space that feels as though it has always been part of the house.
