The firm was commissioned to rehabilitate a space within the Angus warehouses to house a new café. One of the main challenges was to preserve the memory of the past while clearly expressing the site’s new purpose. To achieve this, Appareil Architecture opted for a restrained design approach, both in materials and forms, highlighting the impressive scale of the space.
Designed and executed with great finesse, Appareil Architecture’s intervention within the Angus Shops breathes new life into this significant site of Montreal’s history, all while treating it with the utmost respect.
